Patio dining in neighborhoods |

In Pittsburgh, the pickings are pretty slim for outdoor dining, but these are some of my favorite spots. The Union Grill, right across from the Carnegie Museum in Oakland. Small seating area but great people watching on Craig Street, and it’s shady enough to stay comfortable on hot days. Café du Jour on the South Side. This is nice because it’s in a back courtyard, away from busy Carson Street. Penn Brewery on the North Side and Church Brew Works in Lawrenceville. Both good places for a locally brewed cold one on a summer Saturday afternoon. Harris Grill in Shadyside. Their patio in the front is a place to see and be seen. |
